Controlling wood harming insects, such as woodworm, long-horned beetle and wood fungi can be carried out by impregnating the affected woodwork. This method can be applied to clean and accessible unpainted woodwork.
The treated space needs to be ventilated during and after treatment. According to industry guidelines, there is a five-year guarantee on the treated wood.
EWS Pest Control can also see to the repair of weakened beams and constructions. For this, we use the polymer chemical restoration technique.
Hot air treatment heats the harmed wood between 48 and 55 degrees centigrade right into the core, because of which all stages of insects, such as woodworm and long-horned beetle, are killed. The treatment takes place with special hot air equipment placed outside the house or object to be treated. The heated open air is blown into the space to be treated via hoses or pipes.
In places that are hard to heat, sensors are attached to the wood to also be able to determine the wood’s core temperature. The temperature is registered and filed in the computer every 10 minutes. When all sensors indicate the correct core temperature, heating is continued for at least another hour. The wood-drilling insects are definitely killed in every stage.
